LITTLE SAINT

Based on the "Miraculous Saint" short story by Aldir Blanc, it was film adapted by Allan Sieber and Leonardo Rodrigues (a comic for the Rio de Janeiro newspaper Extra) and counts on "characters"—with their respective voices—such as Jaguar, Fausto Wolf, Paulo César Pereio, and Aldir Blanc himself, who wrote a new samba specially for the film score. Fernando Miller was picked to be in charge as animation director and sceneries were made by Fabio Zimbres, who spent two months in Rio drawing the city's streets and bars. Film score by Flu, a long-dated partner of Toscographics.

I'M UGLY BUT TRENDY

60 min., video, color, documentary, 2005.

Going to funk parties for a year with a reduced crew, Denise Garcia documented the performances and the daily life of artists who are making the Rio funk movement today, such as Cidinho and Doca, DJ Marlboro, and, in special, funk singers like Deise da Injeção, Vanessinha Pikachu, Tati Quebra-Barraco, and several girl groups.

JONAS

First non-animated short film directed by Allan Sieber and produced by Denise Garcia. This film, which was filmed in two days in an old house in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro, counts on the breathtaking photography by Leandro HBL, and the performances by actors Dedina Bernardelli, Felipe Silva, and Fernando Alves Pinto.

GOD THE FATHER

Released with great success in the 1999 Gramado Festival, this short film is virtually responsible for the dawn of Toscographics. Voices were recorded in one afternoon in the studio of fellows Flu and Fornazzo, and it took 15 days for the film to be finished. It is the first production for the big screens made by following precepts of DOGMA 1,99, a manifest published in 1999 and idealized by Allan Sieber and Fabio Zimbres. The shrink's voice was recorded by producer Denise Garcia. In the summer of 2000, the short film was showed as introduction in the Brazilian sessions of Kevin Smith's "Dogma".

Documentary directed by Rodrigo Hinrichsen about the legendary musician Hermeto Pascoal. Statements of musicians and friends and the current daily life of Hertmeto: his life in Jabour district (Bangu's city, Rio de Janeiro), the creation process, the main projects, the shows, new songs and his thoughts. All this wrapped by the music of his original arrangements, astounding musical atonicity, and by his compositions in impressive quantity for all musical genres. Produced by Denise Garcia.

EPISODES "MESSING UP THE CRIB" AND "WITHHOLDING THE ALLOWANCE"

With the success of the short film God is Father, the Brazilian MTV ordered two small pilots of a possible animated series with God and his irascible son Jesus. Despite the success among the young audience, the project was cancelled post-haste by pressure of the Catholic Church. Such a pity. In the episode "Messing Up the Crib", God travels and Jesus throws a hell of a party in the apartment. Now in the episode "Withholding the Allowance", the Almighty decides to cut off the allowance of his son, who literally "takes pains" to get himself some cash.

THE BROTHER EIGHTBALL TALKSHOW

Pilot of a series with Brother Eightball, a character from the "Bifaland" comic strip, which was published in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo during 1996 and 1997. In the pilot episode, Brother Eightball receives as guest in his talkshow Lily the seal, who is releasing her first poem book. Both the voices of the seal and Eighball's were recorded by Edu K. The film score was made by Flu and Fornazzo.
