During the past 50 years of artistic career, "The First Lady of the Brazilian Theather", Fernanda Montenegro, performs "Dona Doida".

During the past 50 years of artistic career Fernanda already acted in 54 theatre plays, 200 teleplays and 12 soap operas, 6 films and received 30 awards.

The magnificence of this actress does not rely on the quantity of performances but on her hability to incorporate the character's role played in a perfect and fantastic way. Her biography was published in "O Exercício da Paixão" (The Exercise of Passion) written by Lucia Rito.

"Dona Doida", a solo play since its start in 1987, has been successful with the public and critics in Brazil as well as in Portugal and in the United States, attracting great audiences due to the acting strength of Fernanda Montenegro and the sensibility of the text written by Adelia Prado.

The script of the play, made by six hands - Fernanda herself, Fernando Torres and Adelia Prado - achieved a definite structure with the brilhant work of the director Naum Alves de Souza. The setting is very simple consisting of a door and some platforms and the costumes include comfortable blouses and pantaloons both created by the director.

"Dona Doida" teaches the art of being happy and it is the kind of play that makes us think and have a better opinion about the human being.
