Her biography was published in "O Exercício da Paixão" (The Exercise of Passion) written by Lucia Rito. "Dona Doida", a solo play since its start in 1987, has been successful with the public and critics in Brazil as well as in Portugal and in the United States, attracting great audiences due to the acting strength of Fernanda Montenegro and the sensibility of the text written by Adelia Prado. The script of the play, made by six hands - Fernanda herself, Fernando Torres and Adelia Prado - achieved a definite structure with the brilhant work of the director Naum Alves de Souza. The setting is very simple consisting of a door and some platforms and the costumes include comfortable blouses and pantaloons both created by the director.
