Camden
Town Excess
The
area called Camden
Town is in north of London and
exists since the end of the XVIII century. What
it was a vastness of green fields, crossed by
Regent's Canal, today is one of the most exciting
regions of the town, specially at the weekends.

Over
there lived people like the writers Charles Dickens
and George Orwell and, more recently the Oasis
Liam Gallagher. But if those walked around the
neighbourhood in other times, anonymous and discreet,
today, what is not missing, is people willing
to call attention - even with that blasé
look of "I got ready in 5 minutes".
In Camden there isn't much bashfulness concerning
the subject style, hair colour, height of the
heel, number of piercings and tattoos. The most
important is to make the look something singular..
To see or to be seen, to sell products, to have
fun.
The
Camden's fame is to concentrate a big percentage
of eccentricity by square meter . On the streets,
in the pubs and night-clubs - like the Electric
Ballroom which also works as a second-hand - in
the stores and in the uncountable market stands
that make the look of the region yet, more diverse.
Besides
the conventional commerce of Camden High Street,
between the underground stations of Camden Town
and Chalk Farm the options are very varied and
the emotions intense . From second-hands to boot
stores Dr. Marteens, from souvenirs to esoteric
products, from Brazilian music to heavy rock,
the offers are for all tribes. And, at the best
of Camden - the
markets - what can be seen is an
unbelievable concentration of options.
Starting
from the most interesting: the Stables Market
was built in 1834 to shelter horses. Today, its
installations make a labyrinthine agglomerate
of stands, second-hand clothes stalls, dark stores
with fluorescent clothes, designers and more the
hall of food from several places of the world.
It is a creative mess full of life with seduction
for all styles. Every weekend appears new expositors,
others go away and some products are the kind
of "now or never!"

Besides
it, the Camden Lock Market concentrates artcraft
from several parts of the world, second-hand book
stores and antiques, besides the famous pub Ted
Dingwalls. The Camden Canal Market - At the same
level of Regent's Canal - also makes the style
" a bit of everything", worn and new
and even second-hand bicycles can be found, at
the entrance by Castlehaven Road. Yet, the Camden
Market, the market on the right of the tube station,
concentrates street wear clothes, very fashionable
and accessories for all tastes. Do you want more?
There still has the Inverness Street Market, flower,
fruit and vegetable market.

Some
of the stores of Camden Town work during all the
week.. But, most of the stands in the markets
open their doors only from Friday afternoon and
work on Saturdays and Sundays, until down. Despite
of being very crowded in these days, it is an
obligatory program: the sensation "if I wasn't
in Camden, I wasn't in London", can be irreversible...
