Louise
is a young Parisian who spends her days in the streets in the company
of persons like herself who survive from petty theft and traffic of every
kind. One day, her paths cross with Gaby, a boy who lives on his own,
and Rémi, a dandy. These two encounters are to transform Louise's love
life.
Filmed
camera in hand and close to the face, to action and emotion of the characters,
the film leads us through a series of labyrinths, from the passages in
the Paris subway to the city pavements, and on, along chic avenues and
through the empty backstreets of L'Opéra, but above all through the yearnings
and fears of the group in their wanderings through the city.
This
journey through the life and dreams of Louise, an improbable but truly
genuine heroine is modern romance and a manifesto on vagrancy. Far from
being a film on the "excluded", it is above all a love story, marked by
urban poetry. It is also a reflection on freedom interpreted as a jazz
solo.
