Documentary that follows along with singer Paul Pena and his passion for the guttural music of the Tuva nomads. Pena is a blind singer of blues from the Cape Verde Islands, living in San Francisco, who traveled to the north of Mongolia for firsthand knowledge of the land of the Tuva. His hobby is learning different languages.

Searching on Radio Moscow for a course in Korean, he comes across strange sounds: the traditional song of the Tuva whose culture was suppressed when the country was under dominance of the Soviet Union. Pena spent years studying the language and musical techniques of the people. At a rare presentation of Tuva singers in the United States, he met Kongar-ool Ondar who was impressed with the amount of knowledge the American musician had absorbed about his culture and who then invited him to take part in a festival in his country. One of the most impressive moments in this documentary is the journey made by Pena and Kongar-ool Ondar, now great friends, across the steppes in the region.
