In
the heat of summer in northern France, happy, young Juliette feels time
is passing by. The only daughter of parents who are separated, she lives
with her mother, Anne, an English artist who has rebuilt her life at the
side of Damien, a mystic engaged in a spiritual search.
The
father lives in a caravan, and cares for her not at all. Juliette spends
her time with her boyfriend Jef and his friend Michou. When Jef convinces
her to deprive Michou of his virginity, she is hesitant but eventually
accepts. Both lose their respect for her.
When
she meets Titi, who is from a family reputed to be fascist, she does not
hesitate to go our with him, thus precipitating a virulent reaction among
her family and friends. Little by little, she faces the loss of her illusions
and of her dreams. The mother then becomes aware of her own responsibility
for her daughter's frailty.
