Venice, 1699. One fine day while having his portrait painted, Count Giaccomo wondered about the future? The Renaissance was over. What would be next? Frustrated by his advisor conventional responses he called on Gippo, his fool to answer the question. After some thought the fool answered: One day the scribbling of asylum patients would be considered art. The fool was summarily hurled out the window.

Venice, 1999. Count Giaccomo's portrait hangs prominently on the salon walls of his every splendid palazzo, while countess Camilla is Busy organizing a party to celebrate the millennium's last Bienale. The Countess is a descendent of Giaccomo, and her father the Viscount has willed his entire state to the city just shortly before falling into a catatonic state.

She and her brother, Roland, will be left with nothing unless they can prove their worth to Venice and the art world. A plan is made, and both, Camilla and her brother use the stay of important Guests to solve their problem.
