Peter
Delpeut was born in Vianen, Germany, 1956. He studied philosophy
and film theory, then enrolled at the Dutch Film and TV
Academy between 1980 e 1984, during which time he wrote
film and TV reviews. From 1988-1995 he organised programmes
for the Dutch Film Museum, where he is also managing director.
Emma Zunz (1984), his first short film, received
the jury special mention at the Kurzfilmfestival in Berlin
and, in the same year, won a special award in Amsterdan.
In 1992 The Forbidden Quest won awards as both the
Mannheim Film Festival and the Oporto Film Festival. In
1998, his film Felice...Felice opened the 27 Rotterdam
Festival. He has also published two collections of essays
and a novel inthe last three years.
