Poland,
France, Israel. Three women set out with no destination - three lives
crossing each other. Riwka, age 65, is travelling in a sight-seeing bus
on a road between Warsaw and Auschwitz. Travelling through the frozen
Polish scene, the bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere. In the turmoil,
Yiddish is the language through which they communicate.
Regina,
also 65, believes she has found her father once more in the person of
an old man without a memory who left the other side of Europe to meet
up with her in Paris. Vera, a Russian woman of 80, has just moved to Israel
where she would like to spend her last days.
She
is looking for a cousin that she has not seen for a long time, changing
from bus to bus, from city to city, invariably alone. A stranger everywhere,
she is lost, tired out. In the last bus, however, quite by chance, she
meets Riwka.
