A ballerina reminisces over her past: naïve peasant girl, wooed by a bull-fighter, tarnished by her stepfather, soon an attraction at a brothel, concubine of a rich man who releases her from prostitution and makes her his mistress, muse to a composer, triumphant rumba dancer, and the frustrated mistress to a rich heir. At the end, she meets again with her true love, the bull-fighter, now married. She poisons herself and dies. An anthological melodrama.
