Andy McCoy: 36 years, born in Lapland, wears a cowboy hat, a mass of costume jewelry, a brightly-colored bandana on his hair, tight jeans, and unbuttoned shirts. Of slight build, thin-legged, he wears a red heart tattooed on the right arm.

He is a romantic rock'n'roll icon, portrayed in this documentary that explores both aspects: the creative force that nurtures his talent and the destructive force that obscures his life.

The founder of the most successful rock band in Finland, Hanoi Rocks, and ex-guitarrist Iggy Pop, Andy and his group toured the world, including Japan, Israel, Thailand, and countries in Europe. Death of percussionist Razzle in a car accident in the eighties broke up the first grand tour of the band in the United States. His life has been thus - a blend of success and mishap, of triumph and loss.

His talent, however, as composer and guitarrist is undeniable: he combines a range of styles to perfection, from hardcore punk-rock to nostalgic flamenco.

He fell from a balcony three stories high while filming and broke his leg. He was in hospital for one month and spent 17 weeks in a wheel chair. During this time, he wrote six new pieces of music for the film. This is the true Andy McCoy. A cult.
