The
prospects for the future are not brilliant for a group of teenagers from
Zona J in Lisbon. The children of laborers and cleaning women, they lead
a difficult life. One is Tó, a black youth, son of Angola parents, in
love with Carla, a white girl. He dreams of living in Angola, and she
accepts his plans unhesitatingly.
Without
the money or conditions to make his dream real, Tó opts to work in civil
construction, but Carla's unexpected pregnancy complicates the situation.
Desperate
and again jobless, he becomes involved in a jewelry store robbery together
with friends. Everything goes wrong: his youngest brother is shot, and
the police is after the group. The only way out is the airport, but Tó
and Carla have a long journey ahead.
