Mystery comedy within the best tradition of cinema noir and of the architecture of French comic strips. Detective Gabriel Lecouvrer known as "The Octopus", arrives at a small city where black humor co-exists together with the horror of the reality of the docks. With his girl-friend, Cheryl, and his partner Pedro, The Octopus plunges headlong into a tragicomedy with the local docks for a setting.

All of the suspense would seem to girate around a mysterious cargo boat and a group of violent robbers who attack at night.

When The Octopus' reputation is called into question, he decides to take action. He is far from bowing to the call of evil and sets his habitual cunning to good use, struggling to bring the truth to the surface, even if he does have to face a veritable parade of bizarre, grotesque characters.
