Director
Neil Labute continues observing and listening to the human condition.
After the controversial In the Company of Men, he reveals the obscure
side and even more obscure humor that is part of the relationships of
the high urban class today. Three women and three men are engaged in intricate
maneuvers towards sexual dissimulation and self-sacrifice. Jerry, a professor
of theater embarks on an affair with Mary, the wife of his best friend.
Married to Terri, he does not perceive that his frequent escapades eventually
lead his wife to the arms of beautiful Cheri.
Meanwhile,
Barry, Mary's husband tries his hardest to get her to have some pleasure,
even going so far as to listen to the advice of his friend Cary, a male
chauvinist of no character who spends every night with a different woman.
Many times he winds up alone simulating possible sex encounters on a tape
recorder to show friends.
