Born in Paranavaí, Paraná. He began his career in 1997 with an experimental medium film Pobre é Quem Não tem Jipe that earned him a prize at the 30th Film Festival in Brasília. He later directed A Velha, Os Meninos e Gato que Escaparam da Estranha Caixa Azul (2000), a film made in beta and kinescoped into 35mm. The Eighth Colour of the Rainbow is his first feature.
