Born in England, he grew up in Rome. Coordinator of the Ribeirão Preto Film Nucleus, he studied cinema in the University of New York and was assistant director in films such as Stealing Beauty (1996), by Bernardo Bertolucci and Daylight (1996) by Rob Cohen. In 1997 he directed a short film Pobre por Um Dia which earned him prizes for best script and directing at the Curitiba 3rd Film Festival. In 2001, he made Homem Voa?, a short film selected for the Mostra.
