Aleksi was born in Finland in 1973. Before deciding for a career in film direction, he took Architecture at Helsinki’s Technology University in 1992. In 1996, he started attending the Film and TV School at the Helsinki University of Art and Design, from where he graduated in 2003. Producing Adults, his first feature film, will run for an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film in 2005.
