Born in New York, USA, in 1964. He moved to Paris in 1987, where he has lived ever since. He started his career writing subtitles for French films, including many by Jean-Luc Godard, André Techiné and Youssef Chahine. In 1996, he was direction assistant to James Ivory in the film Surviving Picasso. Doctor Rey marks his first work in direction and screenplay.
