Born in Iran, in 1972. He graduated in theater at the University of Teheran and at the Tarbiat Modarres. He made several short films in super-8 and in 16 mm for the Young Iranian Cinema Society. He wrote several scripts for cinema and television in Iran and also directed a popular series for TV, A Tale of a City. His first feature for cinema was Dancing in the Dust (1993). Beautiful City is his second film.
