Born in Koln, in Germany, in 1965. She studied German, American literature, and cinema at the University of Hamburg. She directed her first film in 1994, a comedy, Kommt Mausi raus? In 1997, she directed Everything Will Be Fine, a prize-winning film at the Hamburg festival. In 1998, she made An Angel's Revenge.
