Perspective
The Remains of Nothing (2004)
Italy
An analysis of the Neapolitan Revolution of 1799 that goes beyond the historical events and shows the feelings that galvanized a search for a new reality. A world with fair distribution of wealth, the dream of a country based on shared responsibility - the dream of the Neapolitan Republic. The story is told by means of character Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca, a frail woman and one of the main protagonists on the scene. Through her hopes, suffering, and passion, we are made aware of someone who did not wish to be a heroine, had no hankering for adventure, did not choose the revolution, but that, when she found herself in the midst of rebellion, faced up to the cause as a commitment.
