Perspective
Dear Wendy (2004)
Denmark / Germany / England / France
Dick is a lonely young man living in a sad, dismal little town, called Estherslope. The son of a coal miner, he steadfastly refuses to follow along with the male-oriented behavior of the majority and becomes a pacifist. Even so, he is finds himself strangely drawn to a small revolver he comes across and christens with the name of a woman, 'Wendy'. With the aid of a friend, he persuades other marginalized youngsters in town, together, to form a secret club, "The Dandies", with an exotic philosophy - a combination of pacifism and a passion for firearms. Rule number one for the club is never to draw a gun. The balance is broken when, much against his will and through pressure from the sheriff, Dick becomes the guardian of a young delinquent who is on a great deal more intimate terms with his gun than are all of the club members.
