30th São Paulo International Film Festival will present Petrobras Cultural Award

Documento sem título The 30th São Paulo International Film Festival, scheduled to happen between October 20 and November 2, 2006, will present a special contribution by its official sponsor, BR Petrobras, in benefit of Brazilian filmmaking.

Brazilian feature films, both fiction and documentaries, in the selection of the 30th Festival, will run for the ‘Petrobras Cultural Award in the São Paulo International Film Festival’: an award granting R$ 600.000,00 to the two films considered the best by the festival’s jury. Best fiction feature will receive R$ 400.000,00 and best feature documentary, R$ 200.000,00.

These awards complement the Petrobras’ initiative of supporting feature films, open to applications at the following web address: www.petrobras.com.br/culturaesporte, with a total amount of R$ 4.000.000,00 to be granted. The initiative aims to support the launching of Brazilian films in the exhibition market.
