The memory of the cinema and culture on ARTE TV

On this last weekend of the Mostra, the Clube da Mostra (Conjunto Nacional – Corredor Cine Bombril, Av. Paulista, 2073) is organizing three debates. On Saturday (29th), at 7 p.m., the theme is “The Memory of the Cinema”, with the participation of Jon Wengstrom (curator of the Swedish Film Institute, responsible for the Victor Sjöström’s retrospective at the 29th Mostra); the specialist Nadja Tennstedt (from the films Beyond the Rocks and Winter Soldier); Isabel Martinez (executive producer of documentary I am Cuba, The Siberian Mammoth) and Carlos Magalhães, from Cinemateca Brasileira.
On Sunday (30th), at twelve noon, the debate is about “How to Communicate with Young People” (Youth Festival), with directors João Jardim (from the film For a Better Day) and Marcelo Gomes (Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures).
From 6h30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the subject is “How to Make Culture on TV”, which promotes a meeting among two directors from the TV Channel ARTE, André de Margerie and François Sauvagnargues, and representatives from Brazilian channels and the Ministry of Culture.
