Born in the United States, in 1977. He graduated in cinema by Harvard University, became a professor and free-lance writer, and worked as shop assistant in a bookstore. His first film was directed, written, edited, and played by himself as in Funny Ha Ha (2002). Mutual Appreciation, his second feature, won the Prize from the Jury for Best Script at the 2005 Newport International Film Festival and Prize for Best Actress (Rachel Clift) at the 2006 Peñiscola Comedy Film Festival. U.S. magazine Interview regards Bujalski as one of the principal names in an independent scenario, in the decade.
