Jorge Guimarães
Born in 1957, in Rio de Janeiro. Producer and director of cinema and television, he has been involved in surf and in martial arts since his teens in the Rio de Janeiro south side. In 1979, he went to California, where he lived for thirteen years, studying English and working with the surf industry. He came back to Brazil in 1993, and began to produce and direct a weekly TV program on martial arts. In 2002/3, he was one of the creators of the Tow in World Cup TV program. The documentary Tow in Surfing is the result of all of these years of experience in and out of water.
Rosaldo Cavalcanti
Born in Recife, Pernambuco, in 1963. He graduated in cinema and is producer and director for cinema and television. To dive, fish, and swim were always an important part of his childhood. As a teenager, he lived in Rio de Janeiro, when surfing became an essential part of his life. He began to work as a journalist in 1982, publishing articles on surf in several national and international magazines. In 2002/2003, he was one of the creators and producers of Tow in World Cup TV program. The result of this experience is the documentary Tow in Surfing.
