João, nicknamed Maré, is a boy of 10, whose dream it is to be a master at capoeira like his father. He wants to carry on with a family tradition from several generations. A mix of fiction and documentary, the film tells a short story of love and war. Filmmaker Rosane Svartman (How to Be Single in Rio, 1998; Mais Uma Vez Amor, 2005) co-wrote the script.
