With a plot based on texts by Gilberto Freyre who is also the narrator, the film documents day-to-day life and work methods of the author and sociologist in his home in Apipucos, Recife (Pernambuco): with his favorite dishes, the beauty of his home, exercises in intellectual pursuits, and pleasure, with no specific dividing line. In addition to Freyre himself, in the film, are his wife, Madalena, and two house servants, Manuel and Bia. This is the first short film by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade.
