Armenian genocide is recalled at the 31st Mostra in five films
Besides the weight of the Armenian genocide, the first one of the 20th century, the third generation of survivors of the diaspora still suffer with the angry pressure by the Turkish government, which insists on denying the responsibility for this tragedy that killed over 1.5 million Armenians between 1915 and 1923.
The Mostra opens with “The Past”, the new film by Babenco
On October 18 the traditional opening of the São Paulo International Film Festival will take place at Auditório Ibirapuera. The film chosen for the 31st edition is “The Past”, new film by director Hector Babenco, starring Gael García Bernal.
