He was born in Saarbrücken, Germany, in 1973, and studied History, Psychology and English at the universities of Cologne and Heidelberg and graduated as M.A. Since 1998 he has been working as a freelance filmmaker and journalist for several European TV stations, among others, for ARD, Arte, and ZDF. He has made several historical and political documentaries, mainly about globalization related subjects, next to films about Jack Kerouac, Charles de Gaulle, Naomi Klein, and several more. He teaches about Documentary Film in different German universities.
