FORMULA INDY LIGHTS PAN-AMERICANA

The Pan-American Indy Lights is a category that was invented by the Mexican entrepreneur Felizberto Jimenez, who bought 24 cars used at the American Indy Lights.     This category runs cars with monoplace bodies of the "formula" type manufactured by the English Lola Cars Ltd. The cars we use were made and used in the United States up to 1996 , replaced in 1997 by a more appropriate body to compete with the oval ones.

    ILP is the first championship in Mexico that reunites more than 60% of foreign pilots with experience in international circuits in South America , North America, Canada and Europe. The majority of the pilots are from Brazil, Argentina, Costs Rica, United States, Scotland and Mexico.

It provides the pilots with a fine opportunity to acquire experience for future competitions in categories such American Indy Lights, Cart-Fedex and IRL.     Each race covers approximately 160 km (100 miles) and the champion's prize is the right to compete in the next year in the American Indy Lights, sponsored by ILP. The 2nd and 3rd place winners are awarded the right to train at the American Indy Lights, also sponsored by ILP.
