UpToDate - To fight against the powerful cassette piracy in Brazil, some authorities suggest that the musicians should advice their own audiences not to buy pirated cassetes. Do you think it is a right thing to ask for?

Chico Cesar - For me, it's not something to worry immediately about because I'm not a targeted artist for the market pirates yet. But I'd say to producers in general that they should put the prices in an accessible level. If they put the cassettes in a good price on the streets, people would notice that the official products are better than the pirated ones.

It's like to ask people not to buy Chinese shirts because it would spoil our shirt industries. I think it's a matter of giving to the market nice products with good prices. With quality and price, people won't buy pirated products.
