Chico César and Ná Ozzetti

UpToDate - If you could produce new names now, who would you choose to produce?

Chico Cesar - I'd produce Zeca Baleiro. There's also a girl from Minas Gerais called Selmar, she's a singer and guitarrist. I'd produce the Jaguaribe Carne band (first Chico Cesar's band), who are from João Pessoa.

Other group I'd produce would be the Pífanos of Caruaru Band. (Pífaro is a wind instrument, made from bamboo, and much used in Northeastern folk music)

Since I first saw them I wondered how producers hadn't known this great band before. There were a lot of people wanting to buy the guy's album but they hadn't any one yet. Eventually, I read in the newspaper they would record an album in the United States. Exactly what happened to Tom Zé.

There's also another female singer from São Paulo called Miriam Maria. Actually, we're producing one song; me, she and Lincoln, who plays piano with her, and Sergio Bartolo, the bass player. Our aim is to send that demo tape to record companies, and even for us to evaluate the stuff.
