UpToDate - Did you like CusCuz Clan's final result? Chico Cesar - Yes, I did. Funnily enough, there are always people who don't like what they usually do. As soon as I've finished the recording, I thought I could make something all over again. Fortunately, after three days of that I was relaxed and heard the album and that's it. I've enjoyed the album pretty much. I think it's an album that represents that moment well. I should say it's such a necessary album, not only for me now but for the whole Brazilian music market. UpToDate - Tell us, which are your favourite tracks? Chico Cesar - I like the ones I've recorded before that album. I mean, to have the possibility of having different versions for songs people sang before. I like the one that closes the record called "MPB's", which define well the relationship I have with Brazilian music. Well, I like the whole CD but I would mention "Anjo da Vanguarda " (Avant-Garde Angel, a pun on "Anjo da Guarda", guardian angel) track, with Lanny Gordon (ex-Brazilian guitar idol from the Seventies). I'd also point out the opening track called "Folia de Príncipe" (Prince's Revelry), because it's something that reminds me of things of my family, my parents and my uncles. It's a traditional song, about 12 years old. I guess the CD is a panel of things I've heard and all that went on mixing with other ones to end up on this. |
